try looking up borg, i belive there called. The one with a frog as a symbol. Back in the day before the b series swaps it was zex, crane, and borg who were only offering cams for the d series motors. Ive heard good things about the zex cam, lots of torque if your able to find one. But then again like everyone says have to do your research on profile and supporting mods. Probibly need good compression to make good use of the cam, with alot of tuning

typically if you run an aftermarket cam higher compression is needed to get the most out of the setup, same with supporting mods, like a good intake, header and free-flowing exhaust.
And of course TUNING.
If you change how much air is entering/exiting the engine (by changing the cam) you NEED to change how much fuel is getting injected (by tuning the ecu). Sure you can just toss a cam in and drive the car, and it'll probably drive decent, but you'll get the best gas mileage and performance out of it if you have it tuned properly.

hey, just a few tips for that build.
get rid of these parts
-pm7 rods are not needed, pm6 ones will do just fine
-8 pound flywheel is a little to extreme unless its a full out race car
-b18a1 fuel injectors will not be needed
-wouldnt bother with the light weight crank pulley either.

Pick up a stage 2 cam with all the money you saved, then start saving for dyno tunning you should be able to pull out 135-145 hp depending on the tuner. But honestly id just go for a b swap, ive been playing around with d's for years, buy the time you get your car built, tunned your easily spending $2000 not to mention reliablitly issues that may occur and only making the same power as stock b16.

if you're lucky.
Building a n/a d-series is pointless, the money you'd spend going all out would easily buy a very nice turbo kit and you'd make double the power on low boost.

I think we've all been saying that from the beginning but this guy seems determined to build up his D series.

He hasn't posted in here for a while, maybe he's some to his senses...

hey hey!
sorry to burst bubble guys, but the build is almost done. i didnt go with a aftermarket cam, but the head is built for one - new: springs, retaners, retaner clips, new valve guides and a skunk2 intake manifold! and yes the 8 lb. fadenza flywheel is on the built botton end and i have S2000 injectors insted of the b18a1 injectors!

HOPE TO SEE YOU GUYS ON THE TRACK! "or the street"

have a good one:
KEVIN!

So let me get this straight... your trying to build an NA D series that will pull on a B16, but your using the stock cam?

I'll believe this when I see it.

All the best to ya.

the only way your going to pull on a stock b16 now is if you throw in a 4.9 FD in the box.
grab a cam for that thing though seriously otherwise your not benifitting from the compression increase.
good luck, post some vids when shes running
