Racing on the Highway

On Monday night I was on my way home on the DVP after the Beastie Boys concert at about 12:30am when a (from what I can remember) Dodge Sebring or Stratus with a big metal sproller started to cruse beside me so that the nose of his car would be no farther then just behind my door but also didn't pull right beside me. I was doing maybe 110 in the right lane. So I look over because I had a weird feeling he wanted to either race or just sit there looking at my car so anyways I thought to myself, I can't race this guy, first, I bet he is driving auto, and second, there was a car behind me that I didn't like the look of (oh ya, and the fact I don't race ) So I continue to drive at 110 and let him slowly pass me. Not even a minute after he passed, the car that was behind me pulled in his lane and fallowed him. It was a unmarked cop car!!!! Cops did a good job trying but just with the wrong car lol
All I was think at the time was "What a ricer!" COPS=RICE

Didn't get me this time sucka!!

false...there is an entrapment law in canada. One of my buddies got pulled over by one of those done up undercover cop cars that was revving his engine at a red light to make him do something stupid...got thrown out in court.

From the original posters story, there wasn't any entrapment. I remember reading up on this program and the method for avoiding entrapment is for the bait car's driver to pace someone, not make any gestures or look over and not rev or change speed. That way, when you take off, it was your decision and you weren't prompted to race by anything but the presence of a done up car travelling at a normal speed in the lane beside you. Which I think is pretty fair.

It's impossible and illegal of course for any street racing acts, so why the hell would a cop race someone and then pull them over and give them a street racing ticket when he was breaking the law as well. The cop will lose his job on the spot.

I myself have never witnessed any cops driving done up cars, maybe it's a myth, who knows. But if there is they must just rev and make the other fool take off and book them for whatever. I doubt any cop is stupid enough to actually race a guy and try to book them after the race.

it's the same as a cop dressing as a hooker to catch Johns or a cop acting as a druggie looking to buy drugs to catch dealers. it's the same thing and if you get caught by this method then too bad for you I ain't going to lose any sleep over police tactics I think it's a great Idea

To tell you the truth, I couldn't give 2 ****s if racers get caught as well b/c I don't do that **** so I have nothing to be worried about.

Secondtly, I think it's a hazard and a danger to everyone on the road, if a stupid cop has to race a guy to catch them. There's millions of other methods to catch street racing and if they have to perform a hazardous act to catch them, then the cops a retard.
Plain and simple. IMO!

Trust me it's not a myth. There was a whole thread on another toronto board with people naming off all the undercover cars they know about and the areas they patrol. I've seen a cop EP hatch before myself.

The cop didn't really race me...he just sat beside me so that if I decided to race him, the unmarked cop would pull me over.
Like if I jumped on the gas I'm sure the ricer cop car wouldn't have raced, maybe speed up a bit just to get me going but not really race and make a hazard on the road.
