what shocks to use?

What shocks have you guys used with the skunk2 sleeve kit coilovers?

In your personal experience what did you use and how was the ride? Also cost for shocks and labour would be nice.

I dont want to hear how they suck or to buy something else. Already got them and just wanna know what to do for shocks.

Thanks.

I hear that koni yellows ride ok with skunk2 sleeves.
On my last and current car I've been running kyb agx struts, and I have no complaints. Last setup was agx's paired with tein s-techs and now agx's with unknown name sleeves. The ride is bouncy with sleeves but nothing you can't get used to. After a week It felt just normal.
Agx's run about 450$ from ebay, have damper adjustments for softer/stiffer ride. I believe koni yellows have the same option.
Both struts are well built.

Ok so koni yellow and kyb agx so far. Without sounding like a donk, is it worth it to buy expensive shocks or should I just leave the stock ones or maybe some shocks that are cheaper than these? I understand that you get what you pay for, but I am just looking for good looks without too much ride sacrifice.

Thanks for the input so far.

Would not recommend to run OEM struts. They will blow out, especially with sleeves since their spring rate is harsh. To be honest, spend 600$ or so and buy used coilovers. You will have the looks and comfort. Oh and don't forget the safety. When you go over bumps, sleeves will have no pressure on the and while cornering its easy to loose control. Trust me, I own a set haha. But since you mentioned that you do not want to get anything else other than struts, there is no point in buying cheaper aftermaket struts like kyb gr2s since all the cheaper ones are just OEM replacement.

Talking

To the OP we HIGHLY recommend you stay away from KYB shocks. We have had many terrible experiences with KYb line up including the AGX ( when it comes to coilovers ) We have had some customers do good with springs and Kyb Agx shocks.
There are many different shock options out there to chose from, WE HIGHLY recommend Koni. The yellow shocks are awesome and have adjustments you can do in 5 seconds on the top of the shock. These shocks can be adjusted for street use, turning or drag. They also come with a LIFETIME warranty! Koni also offers the Koni Red's for slightly less $$$ but they are not adjusted from the top like the yellows and for the small price difference we recommend the Koni Yellows.

Heres some info on Koni :

Ever since 1955 KONI has held a prominent position in the racing world: 13 World Championships in Formula 1 need no further proof. In addition there have been numerous victories in all categories of motor racing, e.g. Le Mans and Indy races.

Hope this helps... and let us know if there is anything we can do to help
