help getting front shocks off

hey guys

i have a 99 coupe and im trying to install coilovers but i dont have a 32 mm socket (to remove the hub)

i couldnt get my ratchet to take off the shock from the fork and i cant remove the fork because of crap in the way

im looking for an easier bolt to remove because after you remove the bolt from the control arm and fork its a B1TCH to get back in line so now im wondering if anyone knows an easier way to get the fork off

also does anyone know if the 14mm bolt that locks the shock to the fork usually siezes? i dont know for sure if the last mech put on anti sieze on that bolt last time

remove 14mm pinch bolt and 17 bolt/nut at the lca.

I don't know why you'd take the axle out to do shocks, not necessary.

Are u talking about the 2 bolts on the fork the 17 connecting to the lxa and 14holding the shock? If so I couldn't get to the14 mm bolt I was worried if I used an extension and a breaker bar I'd bend the extension (happened another time) I looked up on a diy and that what the guy did (remove the hub)

if anything can I do the front shocks myself (diy said I'd need a friend to push the drive axle up)

Dont remove the hub. thats just way too much work. get a longer socket or a small extension. If you have quality tools [not jobmate] it will not bend. instead of putting a lot of weight on the end of the ratchet try flexing bit by bit so it would crack. also could spray some pb blaster to make it easier to crack.

where abouts are you located? i could swing by and help you out if you want.

Live and learn. After doing suspension about 15times on a Honda, front strut takes about 20minutes lol. But first time was definitely time consuming.
