What's wrong with my VTEC?

What's wrong with my VTEC?
All of a sudden I don't hear my VTEC humming! All I hear is a sort of Rattling noise. or a grumbling noise. What do you think is the problem. I just want to know what's wrong and if your guys think it's serious, and if it'll cost alot to fix it. What do you guys think?

umm the thing thats wrong with ur v-tec is that its a d16z6 LOL

i had the same problem
the problem was low Engine oil
Vtec eats oil just to mention it..lol

I have a Z6... i don't hear it hum... the only time VTEC was noticably audible was when I had the Zex cam and i messed with the RPM engagement. Other than that yeah... oil level, engine temp, min speed are factors in making sure VTEC comes on.
