Well, I've said this before too...great minds definitely think alike.
Had time to develop any turbo manifolds?
I've had my hands full with porting lately...

Just got the pipes in as a matter of fact... waiting for some flange material, and then I can start. So far so good illmatic_si, just be sure to have $ on hand to fix whatever breaks in the process. Stuff ALWAYS breaks when you go into unchatered territory (well, to most ppl anyways)

Sweeeet. DIY rocks...
Unfortunately, my project has been pushed off. Moving to a new apartment, need cash for first/last.
I'll ask everyone to look at my post in the classifieds...

hey illmatic...the car picks up amazing after i changed the spark plugs and adjusted the valves...didnt pay attention to the rpm range though....somewhere around 4000....anyways...i cant test it now to let you know cause MY ENGINE IS FUCKED!!!!

a couple weeks ago i started hearing this knocking or something in my engine...i thought it was something rattling so i let it slide...until yesterday...the knocking sound got really loud and i hear it all the time...even at idle...im about to go to some shops to see what it is...put with brunos help im kinda sure i spun one of the connecting rod bearings (combination of old oil, redlining too much...and an old filter - all of which bbarbulo said caused the problem, he's a genius) anyways...for now i cant drive my car much...but after i get this fixed ill get back to fine tuning my lawn mower...i mean sohc

i pray my engine doesnt explode over the next couple days before i get the bearings replaced

thanks for the feedback... Over the next couple of days, remember to use 20W50 (or 15W40) or to put Lucas Oil Stabilizer in there to help extend engine life over the next couple of days. Either way, change your oil for sure.

bad news...
too late...

on my way home from work today...i was on the highway and the engine stalled...i started it...and it stalled again...

i started it again and revved it to about 3000 rpm and got off the highway...that clunking sound i was hearing got louder...

then that was it...i listened as my engine died.
the loose bearing im guessing got more loose...and now the whole thing is fucked...there is a loud crunching sounds when i start it now and step on the gas.

im still shocked this happened to me...but i have a lot of people that care for me...and im very fortunate to have what i have...soo...no big deal....

over the next 3-4 months im starting to save for a new engine...
what exactly....i dont know

bruno...if your still interested in buying my wrecked engine let me know...i could use all the money i could get...id wanna keep the tranny though since i just paid 600 for it and it has LSD and its JDM...someone may want it

and since ill probably be saving for a b-series engine...im gonna be parting out alot of little **** from this blown d16y8

oh snap.

maybe I should do the same and fool around with my engine so I can wreck it. That'll convince the wife to let me put in a DOHC. heheheh.....

Gunmetal_Si, sorry to hear about that, but it was gonna go sooner or later.

esp, this was not a matter of 'fooling around' with an engine, this was a result of poor oiling. So if you wanna **** your wife off, instead of blowing an engine, you should bring home a nice college girl

Thank god for synthetic oils If anyone drives their car really hard, maybe it's time to think about using a racing oil. PM me about buying your engine once it's out of the car. *If* I do buy it, I'd want everything like ECU, manifold, sensors, accessories (alternator, ps pump, etc.), but I won't need the tranny. I'd buy it for a mini-me build if I buy another Civic... Just do me a favour and don't attempt to start the car again... the bits of metal inside your oil will just circulate around and eat away at everything that's still good in the engine. I don't know how much more the oil filter can take either. So just let it sit for now. I can't promise for sure I'll buy it cuz I don't even know the mileage but when it's out and you are ready to replace it, just PM me.

no no bbarbulo, you know that I'm not gonna touch the mechanics of the engine. Honda engineers made it the way I like, so that I could drive 300-400,000km worry free. I guess I have B16/18 envy. I was kidding about the rest.

GunmetalSi, good luck on your new build. Keep it a sleeper!

esp, there is nothing better to quench your B series envy than to take a ride in a B16 torqueless wonder LOL j/k

There is a solution... comes in the form of a pressurized intake tract and makes all kinds of cool mechanical noises. It's a symphony... the music of...

Well, I don't wanna send him money until I get at least one reply from him. But his ebay feedback is totally awesome So I don't understand what the hold up is. Elec. boost controllers are too slow to respond and have more spikes and an MBC, so I bought a Turbo XS HPMBC. I was supposed to get a Turbo XS SMBC, from boostjunkie33, but he stopped replying... so I went with a better controller for only a little more money.
