"Reving" While Idling (D15b)

I just put a D15b in my 93 DX Hatch. I also installed the p28 computer to go along with it. Now when i start it up it starts all fine, but at idle, it revs up and down continuously....its fine when i give it gas...but when it goes back down to idle it does this again. Anyone know why it may be doing this and what the solution is? Thanks!

My brothers prelude is doing the same thing.
Don't know what it is though.

If someone knows.
I will relay the message to him.

(IACV) idle air control valve located on the throtle body not sure if it is the same on d series but try G2IC for the b series http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35534 but usually that helps if not then try to clean the throttle body plate. It might not be closing all the way there is an adjustment screw that you can turn until the plate closes...

Clean your IAC valve, spray some air intake cleaner on your throttle body to clean it. If that doesn't help maybe u have a vacuum leak. U might have something u forgot to plug or a vacuum hose is disconnected.

UPDATE: I installed my Si Cluster this morning and so now I have a tach. When it idles, its just below 1500RPM, and when it revs it revs just to meet the 1500RPM line, and back down a little again and repeats the process.

FITV - fast idle thermal valve

check for air bubbles in your coolant. i had this problem on my old beater, I bled the coolant system and VOILA, no more problem. so yeah...

I had the same problem in my integra. Check to make sure your PCV valve is still good (beleive it or not.) It should rattle if its not stuck. If it's not that it could be your alternator doing funny things. That's what mine was.

Could be IAC motor, bubbles in the coolant or you might just need to do a quick tweak to the idle screw. Though worst case scenario you may have a blown head gasket.

i have this same problem with my 95 civ. its a 1.6 sohc vtec zc. b4 when i had the P06 ecu it was revving while idling quite alot, but now i put in a P91 and it only does it a little bit, usually when i just start up, and then when i drive for a bit it idles fine. i cleaned the throttle plate and that didnt do anything.
Does this help narrow anything down?
