3rdgen3 is correct with the d16y8....it does, infact, switchover at 5400-5500 rpm. THAT'S A FACT. and YES, you can hear VTEC in the d-series motors, you just need an intake.

The d16z6 is a little different. the VTEC switchover is at 4800 rpm...FACT. But once again, you'll probably need an intake to hear it.
