Weird headlight output...!?

my EK has a pair of aftermarket white halogen headlight and currently it has the following problems......

- When I turn the headlights on, the right side is in normal low beam but the left side is just like doen't have enough output, looks as bright as day time running light.....but sometimes it changes back to normal

- Once I flashed the oncoming traffic to warn them a cop car was hidding around the corner, I noticed that the high beam was a little delay....or lighting up slow.

under the hood I saw the bulb connector/socket was rusty, melt and cracked a little. I'm not sure would that be causing the problems, or other issue like the light bulb, relay, fuse etc...........

does anyone experienced something similar before?

sounds like a bad ground. I'd firstly check your headlight bulb to harness connection...start there. If you say it looks cracked, burnt etc., more than likely there is your problem. Go to NAPA and ask for a H4 headlight harness. What it is is simply the plug with 2 or 3 wires coming out of it. You may have to chop the end off of your original headlight harness because it just takes too much effort to remove the plug itself and leave the wires. Just connect the existing wires to the NAPA plug with some solder and electrical tape and away you go. Try that first and if it still continues, the problem lies further up the line. But, if your plug is in the shape as you describe it, it's 80 percent a connection problem laying in the plug. Good luck.
