Whats up gentlemen,
i am looking for a High output alternator for a 92-95 civic, anything over 110A.
So far i have researched on a brand called Load Boss. They are rated at 135A, but apparently the life span on the alternator is horrible 1-2 year max.

I also heard Stinger makes them but i have not found any decent info on any yet..

If any of you know of any good brands, or where to get them.. Please let me know cause it has been a hassle to find them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The higher the output the less lifespan it will have, sorry dude.

I'm rocking the load boss. Had it since sept. No probs yet. Make sure you run an extra 4-2g wire from the alt post to the + side of batt.

You can also look into getting your stock unit re-wound.

I hope the shop upgrades the circuits to handle the extra heat and current.

I looked into one and they would rewind the coil, upgrade the stator, and install a heavy duty regulator for 300. AMG in Hamilton.

see now im at a point, if its worth gettin the alternator re-wound
or just buy a new one...

load boss seems to be the only one... so i guess if all else fails its gonna have to be that

The load boss one isn't all it's cracked up to be. The one that came for "my car" had the wrong regulator plug, and the regulator wasn't heavy duty. And the back of the alt. was made of steel, not aluminum. So I had to switch those parts and get the alt tested to make sure it was legit.

So no one even knows of a place where i can get the stator of the alternator re-wound???

You could look into getting an Iraggi but they cost some $$$

Did you check out Wrangler? Another one is Ohio generator again not cheap and mostly custom.

If you stick with stock you'll put extra strain on it and wear it out faster vs paying some serious coin have a good reliable that last a while?

What is your max spending $$ for a high output? My Wrangler 170a is up for sale. $200

$250 for 180A.. thats not bad at alll

Sorry starboy, for an extra $50/70 i can get a brand new one with warranty

but i did check out wrangler, i did not find my make of car listed ;s

does anyone have an Iraggi alternator on their car??? if so any adv/disadv about it ???

I can't speak about Iraggi's reliability but any HO alternator is gonna give your more juice at the expense of maybe a few HP. If your really into car audio, then its really win/win once you get over the price. But if its 250 for 180A then that's really good. I thought they were twice that.
