Is not expensive, but it is recommended when changing altenator, you change your battery as well (preferably to a deep cycle battery). In any case, many car part shops will be able to give you alternators, you could also buy it online , sometimes depending on the situation. Brandwise there are a few out there, one i have grown common to in many show cars is the stinger collection, can range anywhere around the 200$. Not expensive considering the massive improvements it'll give to your car and save you from getting stranded on the road.

Might be out of your way, but there is a small company in Hamilton called AMD. They deal with rewinding starters and alternators. They can rewind your stock alt. to 140 amps and replace the stator for about $300. That includes a heavy duty regulator and testing.Look them up if your interested.

I would see about getting some 4GA, 2GA,or some 0/1 and upgrade your ground wire and switch out your OEM Battery terminals.

I might have a gently used Walgner 170 AMP Honda Alt for sale $250. If your interested you'll have to get a hold of Walgner to see what you need your your application. I was planning on using it my 05 which needed a $30 bracket, and $30 4 to 3 wire conversion harness.

If your serious PM me for the details.
