Talking It's all your fault...

Yes, all you on TCC...

I got a slap-on-the-wrist at work from excessive internet usage....so now I sit typing this on my home computer, on crapy old dial-up!!!

Yeah yeah some of you are gonna say it's my own fault. Which it is, but I get so involved in some of the conversations and posts on here that I can't help but keep popping the window and typing in another reply. I don't know how some of you do it...reply after reply after reply, and your at work as well.....

Anyways, my boss didn't have a problem with it cause, apparently, I do excellent work and I get it done fast. Basically 'upper management' gave me a little talkin to and sent me on my way...

Saddly I'm stuck checking this site from home for now.

Just thought I'd inform.

Thanks.

That sucks. I never had a problem cuz my work was always done top notch. I find these days, computers make us so productive, basically everyone can do their day's work in a couple of hours, and they spend the rest of the time dicking around. Well there are a few people who still have a full day's work on their shoulders, but the majority doesn't. Anyways, pay the $50/month and get broadband at home. If you live out in the boonies where there is no cable or DSL access, go with a satellite connection.

Dial up? Might as well send smoke signals or draw on the cave wall!

Yeah I'm out in the boonies...

The problem with satellite internet is, yeah you can download really fast but your computer still sends out the information through the phone line (dial-up style).

I guess it's better than dial-up. Downloading is fast but uploading is still slow.

No worries. be moving out of this place and into somewhere that has highspeed soon enough.

Yeah I'm not worried about work. Like I said, my boss didn't have a problem with it cause my work is A+. He even stood up for me. But the bottom line is: the internet policy at my workplace says the internet is to be used for work only. Yea they have some tolerances, but when your the #2 internet user in 3 plants in ontario....their gonna notice...lol..

Ya live, ya learn.

The IT guy has to show a report of the top 5 users....sometimes they use that as leverage to lay someone off.

Plus this company is cheap....lol.
