99 civic p0730 tranny slipping
So i have a 99 civic lx in the household with about 190k with the tranny slipping after driving a certrain distance ie heating up.
My mom can make her 15km commute from our house via the hwy let the car sit all day and make the commute home.
But if anyone else try's to drive after it has being driven for that time or approximate distance it will start slipping like crazy. Its mostly from stand still that the slipping happends. 2-3 is smooth but 3-4 isn't always occuring when it should but is still relatively smooth. When coming to a stop i dont think it is shifting down all the way to 1 i think its stuck in another higher gear.
It is throwing the p0730 code for incorrect gear ratio.
The one shop said its totally fubar'd and needs to be taken apart. But they can't give me any for certain price anywhere from 1000 to 2600...
Just doing some reading some people are suggesting the linear solenoid cleaning... does anyone here have any experience with this?
I wouldn't care and would of scrapped the car if this happend 1.5 months ago before i dumped 800 into full tune up brakes ball joints and control arms...but i'm kind of stuck on which way to go now.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I would suggest first replacing the transmission fluid. Cheap thing to do, can even do it yourself at home. There is a drain plug, and you fill through the dipstick hole. If that doesnt help, then you know you have more serious problems. Such as a new transmission
