2nd gear notchy

2nd gear notchy

Just got the car and already feel like going into second from first feels notchy. I tried shifting at low rpm's(2.5k), shifting at a higher rpm (4k), and it still feels notchy. I even tried to just pull the stick down without sliding it slightly to the right and it's still notchy....

What's up with that?

Its like sliding the shifter into a pile of small rocks. Not "grinding" but just really rough when shifting. Almost like there's rocks surrounding the 2nd gear.
