Which LSD is best bang for buck? OBX, MF Factor, quaife ?

What shops around the GTA have experience putting LCDs into D series tranny, and not charge arm and a leg?

Quaify would be my suggestion. There are some other brands that are just coming out with new designs but quaify has been used and abused by many people time after time without any problems, so if I was you I'd stick with that.

If you want to save yourself a headache you could just get the d15b lsd transmission. Harder to find but not impossible. Though yes you are taking a chance but usually transmissions from importers are in good shape. But. Its still cheaper to rebuild a d series transmission than put an lsd in. Don't forget that you should replace all seals/gaskets/bearings and also synchros that are close to service limit.

bisimoto has a d16z6 running over 700hp through a stock JDM d15b tranny w/LSD. I have one also in my car, it's only a d15b stock internals and a few bolt ons but I beat the crap outta my car daily and no issues yet. The quaife can be expensive big time. The OBX is a copy of it that you need to de-burr the machining edges off it but could save you some coin.

From what I've read OPM's LSD is made from the stock diff, rebuilt with clutch packs rather then just a spring pushing the spider gears out against the housing. This company is popular with 1g CRX/3g civic guy as they are one of the few who make good suspension parts for those chassis.
