Arrow Speeding Ticket

Okay guys here's how it went down:

I was driving on the 427 north going to 27 (notorious for the cops and radar gun trap) and I was behind a Semi truck kicking up gravel so we go through the construction section doing 60 km/h and then we pass the construction section where it goes to 80 km/h and I start to pass him because I don't want anymore rocks hitting my windshield so when I do I pop out from behind him to pass and Boom the pig gets me on the radar going 90km/h in an 80 km/h section but he said I was still in the construction zone so he put 90 km/h in a 60 km/h section on the ticket.

I plan on fighting this ticket because it’s just pure B.S.

What should I do?

oh **** that area huh
yeah there's alot of speed traps down 27 going north.
you can fight it, but i don't know if you are able to plead that.
but you sure can try.
i've got into an accident with an 18-wheeler side swiping me.
now all i do is hold back a bit and than just boot past the truck
i shiver everytime i'm near one.

Go set a court date, and a first attendance if you want, 1st attendance gives you two chances to get off or get a lower fine... if you don't like what the prosecutor offers then you can still go to court after...

go to the area, take pics if you want, go all out, find some proof to show that you were out of the construction area.... was it an amber/orange speed sign that said 60 km/h or white?

cuz aren't the coloured ones suggested speeds? if it said MAXIMUM underneath the number, then it's lawful, just find a way to prove that you were past the sign that said you were up at 80 and plead guilty to going 10 km/h over, i don't think that's any demerit points and like 40 bucks or something like that....

good luck

ya that place, pass by there sometimes heading home. i'm always cautious when i get there cuz i got caught there once b4. but that was when no construction at that time. popo is there most of the time with radar so careful and slow down when heading towards the curve.

cop was nice, put me 10 over when really was around 25 over....but he didn't show at court....lucky me!

go to court, tell the judge exactly what you did and that you passed the 80km/h sign already before doing 90.....probably won't show up! good luck.

I would just go in with the story you told us, but then again I have zero experience in the courts

Well today I went down to fill for a trial in court. And I'm going to exactly say that to the judge (if the cop shows up *crosses fingers hoping he doesn't show*). So I was told that it will take at least 2 months to get a court date. Then hopefully it will take another 2 months from the day i get my notice saying when my trial date is and the cop forgets to show.

Wish Me Luck. :working:
