speeding ticket

My friend got a speeding ticket 34km/h over on the highway. I beleive its 4 points, anyways should he fight it on his own or get the traffic people or what?? The thing is, it wasn't a radar trap, I think the cop was pacing him for a while and he didn't notice, but I'm not sure. Any advice????

That's really odd. 34 km/h over on the highway really isn't speeding at all. Was your friend driving aggressively? Weaving in and out of lanes like a moron? Was this a "souped up" car?

i know ppl get nailed for 24km/h over on the 401. just depends on the mood of the cop i guess.

having a modded car doesnt help either though...:working:

no, he was driving a cavalier. Actually he was going 150km/h, but the cop dropped it to 134km/h. There were two cops in the car, and they were dicks because they didn't really let him say anything. They just took his license and registration and told him to wait..

it depends on the cop if he wants to be an ahole then he'll give u a ticket. My advice is go to court forget the lawyers(you'll be spendin too much) and plead guilty with explanation if the cop shows up. this would lower your fines and even your points. that's what happened to me although i got pull over for not stopin on the stop sign($110, and 3 points) the cop let me off without fines or the points. she was actually pretty hot

Sounds like your friend should get what he deserves. He was going 50km over the posted speed limit. (not that I've ever done it)

You do know that if your friend was in the middle lane, we would not be discussing this. Cop's look for aggresive drivers.
Just the other day on the way to work, I was following the flow of traffic (about 135-140km) I was in the middle lane when a car passed me. he wasn't going much faster than the rest of us, but the cop that pulled him over about 30 seconds later, didn't think so. Moral.......center lane safe........fast lane + speed, asking for trouble! How fast do you really need to go?
UH, oh......here comes the comments......

Yeah but what if you have to take a major leak? Or worse yet a major dump? You have no choice but to speed.

Most cars on the highway go around 120 anyways
just depends on the mood of the cop, but I'm sure they're stocking every modded car they see

I go above speed limit on the highway usually, and I never get noticed....guess cause my car looks too stock

I don't think that Cop was being "di_K"! As he dropped it to
134 km/h...

150 Km/h will cost your friend a lot more $$$ and points, from what I heard, by going 50 Km/h over the posted limit. It would cost him at least $500 + 6 points.

Just go to court and plead guilty with explanation.

Good Luck to your friend!

regards,
