Pass Off Roadway ticket
well.. **** me...
4 PM or so on the Gardiner Expressway getting on to it from York St (area)... cops were waiting at the top of the onramp just around the corner so you couldn't see them. I tried merging into the traffic but the traffic was too heavy and wouldn't let me in (westbound)...
so I drove 1/2 on the shoulder and 1/2 on the road.. and I got a ticket for driving on the shoulder of the road.
$110.
I'm fighting it for sure.
The ironic part is that he put "WITNESSES" - NO on there... (the checkbox thingy)
and I had 3 people in my car (other than me)... 2 in front and 2 in back...
I have witnesses! Of course I do! Dumb ****...

well dude your not suppose to drive ont he shoulder if you indicate intentions with a signal then slowly start creeping over they will brake to let you in they don't wanna damage there car... I've had to do this every day on the DVP I start coming to the end of my lane and just start moving over if they are brave they'll go past quickly (creating a gap behind them) if they are not they will leave you a spot.
every day it's the same thing from the 401 west to the dvp.... but I've yet to get onto the shoulder..... passive aggressive thats what you need.

2nd paragraph
"According to popular belief, which may have stemmed from the old Summary Convictions Act, that minor errors* on the ticket will make it void. This is not true anymore. If your name on the ticket is spelled incorrectly, this is not a fatal error. As long as the right person is standing in front of the court, and the police officer can identify you, the name on the ticket does not have to match your name exactly. Other minor errors, such as license plate, the defendant's address, and license number etc. will not affect the validity of the ticket. The error must be major enough in such a way that it will mislead you into preparing a defence. An example would be an offence that is not known to law (e.g. speeding 40 km/h in a 63 km/h zone.) Other fatal errors include missing police officer's signature, missing defendant's name, identification and signature etc. If you are not sure whether your ticket has a fatal error, it is better to plead not guilty anyway. The judge will decide whether the error is fatal and if so, he will dismiss it"
