Relay turn-off pop (Popping Noise When Turning Off AMP)

Basically as said above my speakers and subs make a popping noise a little after I turn my car ignition off. Its called Relay Turn-Off which is caused by components in the system turning off before the amplifier completely shuts off. However not sure how I can fix this. I am guessing there is some kind of filter or device I can use to prevent this? DOes anyone know what it is called or what I can do to stop this from happening. Audio Experts I'm looking in your direction.

Yes there is piece called the TR7 by a company called PAC and it will delay the turn off of your remote input. Are you running the factory deck or are you using an aftermarket deck?

you can make a power off delay for the fraction of that unit

Correct me if I'm wrong but, wouldn't having a Capacitor also correct this problem too? (sorry, my audio knowledge is limited)

Yes, You can make one but I don't think he knows how do that so the TR7 is not that much money and it does alot of things for the money.

how is it wired now. DO you have the amp remote connected to the deck amp turn on?

That is correct wired straight to the deck, I saw a article through crutchfield how to build one, but I think its out of my league, the parts they are refering to I am not familiar with and my soldering skills are sub par lol. Unless there is a really simple way of making one, then I am all ears, otherwise I'll look into getting one of those devices.

Also I noticed now since I wired my front speakers to my amp that when I have the radio on I can sometimes hear a whining which increases in pitch as my rpms go up. Could this be cause by having to many wires to close together being run on one side? My power is on the passenger side, and all the other wires are being run from the driver side.

it definitely sounds like alternator whine Moe..
first thing to do is re-check ALL of your grounds..
if they're all good, try grounding the ground on one of your rca's straight to the HU chassis..

last resort, noise filter (hurl...hate to have to, but sometimes you have no choice)

Yup, ground wire on the amp was a bit lean on the contacts so that is fixed up. Matt sent me a useful link to build my own thingy so I'll give it a shot, otherwise I'll go out and buy one, $40 isn't much so if I can't build this thing in a couple hours then I'll say forget it
