Passing off Roadway

Hey dudes..

I'm driving home along the 401 today @ 10:45 PM or so... and I'm travelling in the far right lane (west bound - 4 lanes). It's raining out and I've become a safe driver in recent days. I set my cruise control to 98 km/h and turn on my music.. I'm sitting back cruising and I see this Mazda Protege behind me.. no problems... As I drive further along.. (close to Dufferin), I see the Mazda Protege start to change lanes.. it doesn't change lanes to my left, it changes lanes to my right... But, there's no lane there! There's a shoulder! So the dumbass (waste of skin ************) passes me on the shoulder! That's the imbred Toronto gene pool for you guys! What a waste of skin!

That guy doesn't pass me on my left.. instead he takes the shoulder and passes me!

Now.. the ****** that passes me @ 110 km/h doesn't get any ticket for doing that... no sirens.. no police ... nothing.
BUT
Me... I'm merging into traffic on one busy May 2003 afternoon during rush hour on the Gardiner expressway... (close to York St going Westbound)... and two of my wheels touch the dashed/paved shoulder because a van wouldn't let me in (I was part in behind the van)... and I'll be damned... police pull me over and the lady behind me for passing off roadway!!

What kind of justice is this? The Toronto justice system is a piece of ****. Some cops are good... most are pieces of **** just looking for ways to fill the quota.

That's crazy, passing on shoulder... what the **** was that guy trying to prove? That his car is small enough for the shoulder lane? LOL

Raining with all the water and ****, it could have been a disaster... I for one would be shitting my pants if a loser does that to me. Cause you can't control what other people do while they drive and what they do might cause a unthinkable damage to everyone else on the road...

Did you get his license plate? I hope you did, you could flag it to the police. Whether it works or not, if someone cared, he could get what he deserves.

I didn't get his plate.. all I saw was rain in my windshield cuz it was raining pretty hard and there was a lot of water being kicked up from his car in front of me.

devils advocate:

maybe because it was raining so hard he couldn't see the lines and therefore thought there was a lane there. then again if that was the case he shouldn't have been travelling so fast

on the 401 west there is a section where the shoulder is actually a lane they redid the lanes but didnt remove the paint for the shoulder and put a white lane line there also but its not clear, so it is a lane and not a shoulder just until they finish construction.
maybe this was the case ?

This part of the 401 has not been repaved. I know what part you're talking about.. maybe.

Along the 401 Westbound in express close to Yonge St.. the express lanes are really hard to see because it's been repaved.. but this part is the 401 Westbound in express close to Dufferin st.
