Legal or illegal?

Is this "adjustment" to my car legal or illegal?

Removing all the interior panels, passenger seat, carpet?

BUT wait!, everything else is STOCK, not even an intake in the engine?

Hun Hun? what do you think? Can the cops get me for anything on that?

Even if they try to report to insurance?

Legal....

They might look at you weird...

That should be it..

Only thing is if you have airbags in your dash and you remove them...

Tampering with a saftey device...

Your car will be noisier...

And you will hear fuel pump whine...

Fuel pump whine???
Owww, cool, I think I just might do it for the next week or so just for fun

Hey how about doing all that, PLUS leaving the roof off, wearing a full face helmet BUT doing exactly the speed limit?

Think that'll get the cops ruffled?

*In muffled voice* "Just being extra safe officer!"

Legal,

I drove around with a stripped interior all summer.

If you are stopped, a cop will ask you why you have your interior stripped. Just have a good excuse, like its being painted or you have a dog that scratches up you interior...

Don't tell him, so you can drive faster because the car weighs less

that would be silly

How's this for an excuse?

"It's makes the car lighter and helps me save fuel, I'm poor and every cent counts (which is true)

I haven't altered any saftey features of the car."

If I were a cop I would get a good laugh out of this. They'll probably hassle you anyway, but that's part of the fun driving around in a nice looking car.

Fuelpump

Speaking of fuel pump whining...

I have everything still INSIDE my car...

But when I accelerate in gear 5... the acceleration is low... (cuz it's a low gear heh)... I can hear my fuel pump REALLY whine. But when I'm coasting in gear 5.. you can hear a mouse fart in my car.

Is that normal?

Hrm.. maybe the sound I heard was not a whine but I'm 100% sure it's the fuel pump... It sounds like a whine/hissing sound. Gets louder and louder as I push the pedal harder and harder

This is a 2002 Honda Civic 4 door LX SE.
My interior is fully carpeted and set. It has all screws nuts and bolts. RIght down to the factory seat rails, console, and shift boot.

I'm sure it's not tire whine because if it was... it would be happening.. even when coasting and it only happens when I press the accelerator.

Sure! I'll take you for a test drive so you can tell me if you can identify the problem. Next time we meet I guess? Or if you wanna set something up for the weekend.. I'm all game.

echien:

If your looking for weight, take out the pasenger seat. (without breaking your back)

As for interior, ive taking mine out twice and its actually lighter then you think. Maby tha dash has some weight but the door panels are light, center consols are nothing and the thing behind the seat is light too.

You wont notice it. Take it out to paint it, ya, but to save pennys for gas....

Yeah, i've striped the interior before but I've never driven around with it like that.

I might just do it for kicks and to get a rise out of the G/F

"What do you MEAN we have to take my car?!?"
