Legal or illegal?

Is this "adjustment" to my car legal or illegal?

Removing all the interior panels, passenger seat, carpet?

BUT wait!, everything else is STOCK, not even an intake in the engine?

Hun Hun? what do you think? Can the cops get me for anything on that?

Even if they try to report to insurance?

imported_94EG6HB 05-Sep-2002 10:46 PM

Legal....

They might look at you weird...

That should be it..

Only thing is if you have airbags in your dash and you remove them...

Tampering with a saftey device...

Your car will be noisier...

And you will hear fuel pump whine...

imported_echien 05-Sep-2002 11:02 PM

Fuel pump whine???
Owww, cool, I think I just might do it for the next week or so just for fun :D

Hey how about doing all that, PLUS leaving the roof off, wearing a full face helmet BUT doing exactly the speed limit?

Think that'll get the cops ruffled?

*In muffled voice* "Just being extra safe officer!"

imported_94EG6HB 05-Sep-2002 11:10 PM

Sure why not...

Say you just had brain surgery...

ROTFL....

:richslap:

imported_JookSingKid 06-Sep-2002 03:29 AM

Legal,

I drove around with a stripped interior all summer.

If you are stopped, a cop will ask you why you have your interior stripped. Just have a good excuse, like its being painted or you have a dog that scratches up you interior...

Don't tell him, so you can drive faster because the car weighs less

that would be silly

imported_echien 06-Sep-2002 07:25 AM

How's this for an excuse?

"It's makes the car lighter and helps me save fuel, I'm poor and every cent counts (which is true)

I haven't altered any saftey features of the car."

Legacy73 06-Sep-2002 08:06 AM

echien

"It's makes the car lighter and helps me save fuel, I'm poor and every cent counts
If I were a cop I would get a good laugh out of this. They'll probably hassle you anyway, but that's part of the fun driving around in a nice looking car.

Fuelpump

Speaking of fuel pump whining...

I have everything still INSIDE my car...

But when I accelerate in gear 5... the acceleration is low... (cuz it's a low gear heh)... I can hear my fuel pump REALLY whine. But when I'm coasting in gear 5.. you can hear a mouse fart in my car.

Is that normal?

imported_94EG6HB 06-Sep-2002 09:21 AM

How many KM's on the beast??

NoSpleeny??

NoSpleeny 06-Sep-2002 09:36 AM

It's a BRAND new car. 4000 km on it.
Not even.. hair less than 4000.

NoSpleeny 06-Sep-2002 09:38 AM

Hrm.. maybe the sound I heard was not a whine but I'm 100% sure it's the fuel pump... It sounds like a whine/hissing sound. Gets louder and louder as I push the pedal harder and harder

imported_94EG6HB 06-Sep-2002 09:42 AM

What car is this???

A little whine is normal...

Especially with no interior....

Wanna take me for a test drive...

Sure its not tire noise??

NoSpleeny 06-Sep-2002 09:46 AM

This is a 2002 Honda Civic 4 door LX SE.
My interior is fully carpeted and set. It has all screws nuts and bolts. RIght down to the factory seat rails, console, and shift boot.

I'm sure it's not tire whine because if it was... it would be happening.. even when coasting and it only happens when I press the accelerator.

Sure! I'll take you for a test drive so you can tell me if you can identify the problem. Next time we meet I guess? Or if you wanna set something up for the weekend.. I'm all game.

imported_94EG6HB 06-Sep-2002 09:49 AM

Go to Timmies on Wednesday...

I will be driving the only red 5th gen hatchie with SIR rims...

Tall guy short brown hair...

OK...

NoSpleeny 06-Sep-2002 09:50 AM

Sounds good

Sounds good.
I'll be a guy in a black Honda civic 02 4 door sedan with tinted windows... everything black except for the windsheild.

If I can't find you.. I'll ask people for "where's 94EG6HB??"

Thanks a lot man!

imported_precision4 06-Sep-2002 02:22 PM

imported_1sicsol 06-Sep-2002 03:13 PM

echien:

If your looking for weight, take out the pasenger seat. (without breaking your back)

As for interior, ive taking mine out twice and its actually lighter then you think. Maby tha dash has some weight but the door panels are light, center consols are nothing and the thing behind the seat is light too.

You wont notice it. Take it out to paint it, ya, but to save pennys for gas....

imported_echien 06-Sep-2002 06:45 PM

Yeah, i've striped the interior before but I've never driven around with it like that.

I might just do it for kicks and to get a rise out of the G/F :D

"What do you MEAN we have to take my car?!?"

imported_echien 07-Sep-2002 11:34 AM

K, the interior is out, well most of it, left the carpet in and the door pannels..

I just realized I never hear the fuel pump cuz I have the stereo so LOUD. "TURN IT DOWN!!!"

We'll see what she sound's like now though. :)

Can't wait til Christine see it... HEEHHehehe
