You mean B18C1 right? That's the GSR motor... Your car must pullpretty nice with that turbo kit..

Anyways, about insurance, it'll go through the roof if you tell them about the swap and turbo and all that kinda stuff. I suggest you NOT tell them anything.

Well that depends on the situation, but seriously, it's a risk you have to be wiloling to take if you're going hybrid. Or you can pay $10,000 a year on insurance...

Have you looked to getting a "special intrest" insurance like the "Silver" or "Gold Wheel Plan"? I'll see if I can find the number. GREAT RATES for "MODIFIED" cars. If it is used for shows and stuff like that, then you qualify. (don't worry, they understand that you have to drive the car to and from a cruise, and there are cruises every night of the week! So technicaly, you can drive your car all the time. I'll get the number and post it here. It is suposedly rated on the $$$ that it is appraised at. ie. friend has a '32 rod (street legal) worth about 12 - 14 grand $$$ pays about $300-$350 a YEAR!(he just turned 24) I'll get you guy's more info....

WEll if you think about it your insurance companiy is quoting you on the value of your car / the performance of your car/ the risk of your car and a few other things.

You just increased the monetary value of your car 3 or 4 times. You increased the perofrmance of the car about 5 or 6 times and civics are generally really high risk in the GTA.

You can expect your rates to jump by atleast those factors above.

Unless your car is 15 years or older, forget about it. If it is, and you have done stuff to it......give them a shout...there in the GTA.

Did you see the rates you get! That's for a whole friggin' YEAR!! And it's in CANADIAN $$$$$ to boot!! That's why all the guy's, that have old cars, have the cash to do them up!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$1,000 ----- $75 --- $75
$2,000 ----- $75 --- $83
$3,000 ----- $75 --- $98
$4,000 ----- $75 --- $113
$5,000 ----- $75 --- $128
$6,000 ----- $82 --- $143
$7,000 ----- $90 --- $158
$8,000 ----- $98 --- $173
$9,000 ---- $106 --- $188
$10,000 --- $114 --- $203
$11,000 --- $122 --- $218
$12,000 --- $130 --- $233
$13,000 --- $138 --- $248
$14,000 --- $146 --- $263
$15,000 --- $154 --- $278
$16,000 --- $162 --- $293
$17,000 --- $170 --- $308
$18,000 --- $178 --- $323
$19,000 --- $186 --- $338
$20,000 --- $194 --- $353
$21,000 --- $202 --- $368
$22,000 --- $210 --- $383
$23,000 --- $218 --- $398
$24,000 --- $226 --- $413
$25,000 --- $234 --- $428
And you get a 5% off a year (to a max of 15% off) for no claims!!!!
(that's just insane!!!!!!)
We need something like this! (that's just wishful thinking.......the way Civic's get stolen, we would never get rates like that!)
At least our cars don't breakdown all the time.:working:

Lets just say this, when your buying insurance, they give you some forms to fill out with all sorts of information. They don't care if you lie or not, heck, they want you to lie. You lie = $$$ for them. Sure, you pay the low rates because they don't know what you got, but the instant you get into an accident and you want to claim for your car. They gonna pull out those forms of yours and scan them like crazy and the instant they find one lie. They ain't paying anything. Now your really screwd because they can say you lied and they won't pay a cent. So if your gonna lie and say you have a normal engine, don't expect them to pay for you swapped engine, they only gonna pay for your stock parts, which I'm assuming you put on your forms.

Your choice, either way, you still paying a lot of $$$. So just think about it before making conclusions and Good Luck!
