*sigh* I've had to fight the urge to hit the "reply" button on this thread before reading all the posts, I'm so pissed... but not about what you may think.

eMoney, do all the educated people in the world a favour, and STOP including yourself among them, because you clearly aren't there. I'll give you a hint... just being a university student doesn't make you an educated man, just like being a visible minority doesn't entitle you to yell out "discrimination" just because you were inconvenienced.

You want to know what I mean? First off.... you go on a tirade about being discriminated against because you're Asian, while in the SAME post you make reference to the cop (whom you clearly dislike, which is understandable) as having a "gay" smile. You also exclaimed that the entire incident was "gay." In other words, you are equating whatever feelings you had about the cop and the situation, which were undoubtedly negative, as gay. You just gave a legitimate word some hefty negative connotations.

What the hell is up with that?

I don't care if you are homophobic, or if you happen to be a closet gay man yourself... that's your business. And I also don't care when you, or anyone else on these boards normally uses "gay" in a derogatory fashion, because otherwise I would scream myself hoarse trying to correct it. But nothing on this planet pisses me more off than when someone tries to paint themselves with a certain image, only to act in a contrarian manner. A wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf. And a jackass in an Armani suit is still a jackass.

My point? Don't whine discrimination when you yourself are discriminating against others. It won't fly. People get "discriminated" against all the time. People use that word too lightly these days.

I'm a 5'11 white guy, and I get turned away from some clubs in T.O. if I wear blue jeans (nice jeans with no tears, and they go well with a dress shirt), but my friends who are East Indian and Asian, also wearing blue jeans, get in no problem. White guys with dress pants were getting in. That sucks... I'm being labelled as a redneck, even though I'm probably more cultured, travelled, and educated than 90% of the so-called "educated" people like yourself that get let in the doors.

I've been pulled over buy a cop in 'sauga while driving, with my Asian ex riding shotgun, in my old Jetta Wolfsburg that had factory tint and a large factory exhaust for apparently going through a red light. As he got out of his cruiser and walked toward me, his partner got out, got into a covering fire position on the driver side, kept his hand on his holster while cop number one "interrogated me." Should I cry discrimination? Is it because the cop didn't like seeing a white guy with an Asian chick? Or was it because of my "import" ride? Who the hell knows? (note: I never ran the red, and he never issued me the ticket... but that's a story for a whole new post)

Life's a bitch, son... people get "discriminated" against every day, for many different reasons.. only some of them have to do with race. You're not special.

I could go on about some other things, completely unrelated to discrimination, that you said that pissed me off, but I think I made this long enough as it is.

For what it's worth, I'm glad you got the suspension notice problem cleared up for your friend, because despite you coming across as a little asshat, I don't like seeing people get harassed or punished unjustly, although I also see Motti's side of the argument that the cop was simply doing what he had to do.

Motti and Bruno... thank you both. Were it not for your well written debates, I wouldn't be coming back onto this site as often as I currently do.

/end rant
