Hey bud, what the cop did was unjust. We're only 18-20. We aren't dumbasses, we know our rights. The guy just got his license so how can he had a suspended license, there can be a million Smiths or whatever in Toronto. And theres lot of places that gives legal advice for this kind of stuff, i should know, I had my share of bad encounter with cops. My point is most cops are Dicks, and it seems that way with my experiences, NO matter how nice you try to be, how Honest, or how reasonable u are, THE COP IS A DICK. We weren't making any road violations, not speeding or nothing. The Dick saw 3 young asian guys, and thought we had weed. Thats just GAY! The Police needs to be tought a lesson. I know theres no Winning in this ****ing corrupt system. But Let us have our dignity, we're no low life bum, we're educated people, I can take his job if i wanted to, but i have no respect for people in uniform.

Give you head a shake. Your a "High School Lawyer" especially if you think you can take his job. Take the Notice of Suspension to court only to have a clerk tell you it isn't a ticket. If the cop was a real dick he could have charged your friend for driving while suspended. He was the nice guy CONSIDERING the info you gave and only issued the Notice for your friend to clear up. Don't be the H.E.R.O.

Just remove your back license plate, pile a bunch of your friends in the car, and drive around really late at night. That will help you find a cop a little more easily.

Well guys, Everything seems to be resolves. Me my buddy, and the other guy with us went to The police station along with our parents and a youth aid lawyer from (Child & Youth Justice on Bloor St). And we made our case, we talked to a superior, and he issues an apology on behalf of the officer, and returned my friend's license, and lifted the license suspension.
Im just glad that the police department understood where we stand about the situation and where we are coming from. And Im happy that they acknowledged the fact that the officer was wrong.
Im guessing they didn't want this to go to court. Its kind of bitter sweet because i would like to hear an apology straight from that jackass.
Shi.t like this shouldn't happen to anyone.

YOU DON'T GET IT. He gave him the medical suspension because he couldn't nail us for anything. And my friend was healthy nothing wrong with his mental or physical state that will prevent him from driving. The officer made the shi.t up. Which is wrong. It wasn't a typical cruiser it was the officer in the SUV. THERE WAS NO ORIGINAL SUSPENSION!!!!! My friend just got his license (g2)on Friday, There is no way in hell, his license could of been suspended. Its possible it could be another guy with the same name, but my buddy is only 18. And it was his first day with his new car, and it was insured and is owned by him under his name, So i don't see what was the complication with the officer, he was a complete dumb *** who didn't even know what the 10 day permit was. He wouldn't Justify anything that he was saying or doing, as the offender, we deserve to know whats goin on.
And we're not in high school, the 3 of us is in University and college.
Your right Stuff like this rarely happens without a reason.
The only conculsion i can come up with is, cop, sees a nice car with 3 asian guys in it and immediately assumes there thugs which isn't cool.
I don't mind getting pulled over, the cops should do there job, but they should have a Justifyable reason, with reasonable grounds to do so.

As far as the possibility of being questioned due to identical names does exist. When my gf was applying for Canadian Passport, she was being questioned for a number of "records" on the system because another person, with the same name, has had bad records so the government had to clarify that.
Getting pulled over due to no rear plate, I agree with the act. But lack of professional ethics is not right. I wouldnt' assume anything in regards to discrimination. If any, it was a personal fault. Your friend got his record clarified, even if he was mistreated, he got an apology from the Supervisor.
As the old Chinese saying: Forgive those who show sign of true apology. There is no need or to persue this matter any further, IF, that's what you intended to do. And also, not all police officers are dicks or whatnot. There are a few bad apples in every profession, and let's not take away their creditbility just because of a few selected invididuals. Last but not least, I would hope that people don't jump to discrimination as their first sign of doubt in any face to face confrontations. We are all immigrants and the last thing this country needs is people started hating one another.

they were stopped for a 'random document check' and the trouble started after... so they were not 'profiled' till after he already got his license and all that. at least that's the claim Dan.
well really, I just think its a matter of the db not being up to date, but then I wonder why the supervisor managed to quickly clear up the 'confusion'. any ideas motti?? ... did he maybe call the records ppl and have the pour over their paper records??? or did he simply use that thing that sits on his shoulders... his HEAD!!
or perhaps there was no db error to begin with, and the cop was just straight trippin?? maybe the cop was on 'shrooms lol that would be the funniest thing evAr

What it sounds like is that they got the standard discretionary and diplomatic "f*** this bs and get the f*** out of my office " "apology".
As for the comment just above me, all I can say is, there spouts off another fool. Why would anyone expect that a cop doing his job be suspended, with or without pay? We certainly haven't got the whole story in any coherent manner from the "offended" party here.

haha not all cops are dicks..... i got pulle over for having my front plate up on my dash.... i just calmly told him i was in an accident and had to remove it to repair the damage.... he said "really?" then walked up, looked at my damage, and said, "oh, ok... just get that fixed quickly please" i said "will do" and i was off.... its all in your attitude....
and i know he was messing with me.... a cop lives down my street and i asked him if it was legal... he said no cop would waste their time with this, cuz you just go into court, put the plate on the bumper, show em and they let you off.

I have not really gone through this whole thread but I think that it was wrong for the officer to give a suspension for Medical reasons because he had nothing else to suspend for and at least an apology was made.
But to go around making a generlization about a whole occupation is pretty wrong and immature. All the people that have hit my car are university students.. All university students are bad drivers... Is that what your trying to say.
Just because you have had a few bad run in with the cops does not mean "ALL COPS ARE DICKS", it is not really fair to generalize.
