Can they charge you with anything, If the car is lowered? What is the legal height? How much can you lower the car legally?

When the cop checked out my car, he said the legal ride height is a minimum of 2 fingers between the wheel well and the tire. He was going to ticket me b/c he couldn't even fit his hand through but he couldn't write me a ticket b/c I was on private property.

BS

FIRST OF ALL Your car will be towed if it is deemed critically defective. The HTA regulation pertaining to suspension and impoundment of vehicles states that the officer can only tow your car away for being too low IF AND ONLY IF your car, while in a stopped position with wheels straight, is touching any part of the vehicle (as stated in regulation 512/97). Anything pertaining to suspension and impoundment of vehicles must fall under section 82.1 of the HTA
As long as you dont rub when vehicle stoped, YOUR FINE.
Get an HTA, and print HTA usefull notes. Keep it in your car at all times. This way they can keep their "two fingers" for themselfs...

I never knew that. I'm just telling you what they told me when I asked them. I asked one staight out and he said 2 fingers, then I was in timmies one night and he the cop came in and asked everyone who's blue car was outside and he said mine and he told me to come outside and he said look I can't even fit my hand underneith your wheel well, then he said if he spots me on the road he will ticket me, then I asked another cop when I got pulled over one night and he said there should be space between 3-4". So my sources I mentioned above were from cops and not the HTA. I think I should get a copy of that HTA b/c Im 100% sure this summer I myself and many imports are going to get hassled, what tops it off F&F2

btw:1sicsol, do you have a link for what you just said above so I can print it out? thx

Ya I read that and Ive been through the same thing 20 times...
From exhaust to emmsions to lowered etc...they just make it up...

hm.... I always see ppl posting about being pulled over by cops
so what if u get pulled over for nothing?....
just be urself and ask nicely "what is the problem offcer?"
if you haven't done anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about
I've been pulled over 4 or 5 times for nothing... and never had a problem or ticket
The key is not to let the officer scare you ... coz if he feels that you're scared then he'll probably think you've done something wrong

... once I got pulled over right when I turned out of my street and then the officer told me he's been following me for quite a while... (lol... of 0.3km??? lol... I had my odo set to 0 just b4 I left my house)... I even showed him lol... man... he even asked if I do that every time I leave my house........ luckly I had just filled up the gas at the corner b4 I went home for dinner ...

then another time I got pulled over and the officer just asked to see my licence and registration coz he thinks my car was stolen...
man why would I steal my own car... but anyways maybe coz my licence plate was dirty and he can't see clearly but he didn't give me a ticket.. so I guess he was just doing the usual check just to be sure...

*** And all these times I've been pulled over my car is lowered, w/ N1 exhaust, Factory kit, tinted windows....etc...etc but they never said a thing ***

so maybe next time one of u get pulled over try and be nice and stay calm coz u've got nothing to worry about if u haven't done anything wrong

true, also if you give them attitude then they will definetly give you tickets. This summer cops are going to be much more stricter then last year. haha pulover I wish I can give them a reply like you said, it would probably result in him throwing me in the back seat of his car lol. I dunno, I have heard many different replies to all different cops so I don't know who to believe any more except the HTA thanx 1sicsol for the link. Every time I got pulled over I always act nice to them but they continue to act and speak to me like ******** and always have stupid comments to say. One day a cop told me to get rid of that blue crap on your civic just like every other civic in woodbridge at hwy 7. All I had was the plate cover and the signals back in the time. Another said, "here in woodbridge we have to chase down you little punks with all your honda's instead in rexdale we have to chase killers and guys with weapons."....the list goes on. I hate Woodbridge, every time im out of Woodbridge I never ever get hassled by any cops due to mods.
