1st attendance...

has anyone ever done this?

while goin to fight a ticket, i was offered the option of a first attendance to plead my case before the actual court date.

whats it like? do i actually go into a court room, or is it more of a smaller meeting with a J.O.P or something...

ps. im fighting 600$ in tickets for mods on my car.

I went with a friend of mine, for one of his speeding tickets. It was a meeting with the prosecuter in an office. Basically, it was my friend's first offence, so he was offered a reduced charge and no points taken off. He agreed and that was that. This was many years ago though, so things may have changed. From what I have seen, this is usually the exact same process that is followed in traffic court (ie. the Crown offering reduced charges), only difference being that a first attendance meeting is not held in a courtroom.

failure to stop at a stop sign (rolling stop)

then the infamous "improper muffler" ticket, then the clincher, $300 for a short ram intake.
