First Attendance Notice!

Ok, here is what happened!
I got into an accident about month ago! Hit an X5 form behind!. I was going in Clark street 50km/h (Richmond Hill area) following the beimmer! He was about 10 meters in front of me the light turned red and she started to slow down. I started to bush break but doesn't work! so I tried the handbrake but I guess I was kind of scared (2003 bimmer in front of I have no brake and going right into it) so I pulled it really hard and I just slid into the bimmer!
There was no ice or snow but the road was covered with sand and salt.

Now I got my letter form York Region to attend. It’s not a court so I just have to go talk to an officer or prosecutor. And he has the ability to lower my fine; I don't know what I should tell him. I would appreciate any help!

oh, by the way it's for the careless driving ticket that I got!

i dont know a whole lot but..id just explain what happened...but the thing is that the brakes not working is your fault,,,your responsibility to maintain them in an operating condition...

just be cool

Sand and salt will reduce stopping ability... by a bit during hard braking. Other than that... it won't matter unless there's so much salt on the ground, you make McDonalds look like it's salt-free.

They won't be able to do much about it. They'll ask you why you can't stop properly or something... Your brakes are faulty so if they ever find that out... your car will get you another ticket (like you said).

I dunno what to suggest because you can't say you weren't watching the road. You can't say you were unable to stop because your brakes are faulty.. there's not too much to say..?

If you plead guilty to the offence of following too close, it will reduce points lost and the monitary fine $$$$.
