I don't think so, as long as you have everything hooked up and bolted in correctly. Don't quote me on this, but I think some crx's in Japan have the backseats, and those would be the ones you'd wanna put in. (again not %100 sure)
I think it would be cool, how many 4 seater rexs do u see around?

Well i would that as long as they are properly bolted in ( not held in with duct tape and sheet metal screws, lol) , And there are seat belts that there wouldndt be much of a problem.

My buddy had back seats put in his crx for insurance reasons, and he has been pulled over by the cops and they have never said anything about the seats. Good idea if you ask me.

who ever sits back there all I have to say is good luck. I sat in my friends rex in the back for half an hour and I couldn't feel my neck for like a week, it was on a 45 degree angle for that day. Never again and im also like 5'11" which is not that tall any how.

BTW yep the jdm's are what your looking for and they go for around 150-250 u.s on ebay plus shipping

How about this:

We fit 4 Polaks into my buddys CRX.

All of us are about 230lbs, and 6'1" or so.
2 in the front seats, one guy curled up on the rear bench, and one guy (me ) curled up in the trunk with my head sticking out.

It wasn't the most comfortable position, but it was pretty funny I guess.

We did that twice actually, once to drive to AMC, and the other time I was sitting shotgun (thanks god).

Talking

They're perfectly legal as long as the seat belts are there and attached properly. There shoud be attachment points on the body under the toolbox. I want to see that when you're done.
I've seen three Rexs with the rear seat conversion and they are sweet.
I've had three adults back there without a seat once, and five back there lying down, with my subs removed of course. Hey, someone had to drive to the beach.
