If you want loud exhaust, then yes you'll need to change your exhaust.

There are a million and one combinations you may try. Your exhaust is made up of 3 or 4 main parts: Header/Manifold, Catalitic(sp?) Convertor aka Cat, and Muffler. There is also a part called a Resinator, but most people neglect those when trying to go VRRROOOM SOUND. And all the piping inbetween.

I like expensive stuff, and waste my money on name brands (Borla, Cobb, Skunk2, Vibrant, ect.) If you want to simply rice out your 04' Civic Sedan, simply go to Canadian tire or Wal-Mart, maybe even Value Village, and buy a Reactiv muffler. They're stupid loud, very cheap, and I'll personally hate you.

If money's tight, and you don't want an overly stupid loud muffler, try Cherry Bombz or Vibrant. Just make it's not a Canister Style Muffler. (Though I think the Cherry Bombz is a Canister, they're usually not too loud.)

Canister = Stupid Loud
Better muffler = Good Sound
Better Mufler + Resinator = Heaven

Also look into each piece I labelled above, via google, forum search, or call some buddy.

You may also be interested in a 'Cat Back' exhaust setup.
