White smoke, running rich?
It's the same old quesiotn. I am really serious about it. I want get it fixed as soon as possible. The car eats the gas like drinking water. ( I guess everybody has seen the new tag for the gas) anyway. First. I got a p28 ecu with OBD2 to OBD1 hardness conversion. ( as I said before, the ecu is chipped) I am having a B12b2 engine. Should I just replace my old ECU to a stock b18a2 ecu or is there any better idea to increase my liter/KM ratio.
By the way, my car have white smoke coming out from the exhaust when I hit the gas paddle at idleing. Does that mean running rich or?
Thank you

You should really take it in. Could just be condensation, mild headgasket issue that's nothing to worry about, or could be more serious. I've had a small headgasket leak in my stock rex for the last 3 years without any major issues. Just keep adding coolant and she runs fine. It's hard to really tell from a post on a forum if you have a coolant leak or not. Coolant in the exhaust sometimes has a sweet smell. You can smell rich fuel mix too. Burning oil is also hard to miss with the blue smoke and all. I know if an engine is running too rich for too long it can clean off the black **** off the top of your piston and cause problems. Not sure if that's the same for coolant but it might be. You can pull a plug and shine a light down there and see if the top of the piston is still black.
I don't think anyone should ever run a generic chip BTW. You have no idea what program is really on it or how your engine is responding to it until you get it on the dyno with a sniffer in the tailpipe. Invest in some dyno time and a proper chip. Could save your motor and definately improve your gas mileage since you'll be running more effeciently.
