Newbie question: What do Camber Kit/Control Arm kit does?
Simpily better cornering?
or is there more benefits?
and
Why do people highly suggest you to replace the control arms too after lowering? I thought once you lowered the car, the car's camber are more toeing out already? Doesn't that enough?
Sorry for my ignorance... but i really want to learn something new

when you lower a car the camber will become negative. Now negative camber is good for cornering however too much negative camber is hard on tires, hence bad for the street on a daily driver, unless you enjoy replacing your tires every six months. This is why they make camber kits/control arm kits. Its for when you lower your car past a certain point (at which point is debatable) i'd say 2" or more and when you align the car the camber is out of spec. My car is lowered 1.8" and is within honda spec. And i feel no need at all to replace the front upper control arms with an aftermarket adjustable peice.

Exactly....negative camber will helt create an even larger contact patch while cornering.
As you take a turn the vehicles weight is transferred to outside wheel, so if negative camber is present the wheel, once the weight is transferred, will become even with the ground creating a larger contact patch.

Interesting. Good explaination. I have to think that this theory only applies to extreme cornering, though. I can see why a race car would have more camber, but for street I don't see the need.
