As you know, I can give you a whole bunch of reasons why I use the oil I use. Rather than just telling us the oil you use, could you tell us WHY you use it?

Although our opinions may differ with brands but I completely agree with your question.
But I have a feeling if people answered truthfully the answers would be:
-Honda-tech says so
-It's synthetic, it has to be good
-A guy at the shop I go to uses it and he has 400hp
-It was on sale at Canadian Tire
-I like the commercials with Jeff Foxworthy

If honesty is what you want, I use mobil 1 because it's the best I can afford.
IMO, royal purple is the best. I used it once in my turbo cavalier and saw amaizing results....more power...ran smoother...better fuel mileage than any other oil i've used before. BUT, it is very expensive and eventhough i'd love to use it in my honda....I simply can't afford it. Same thing with amsoil.
Mobil1, and castrol syntec, (imo) seem to be a great bang for your buck. I can go 10,000km+ between oil changes (not intentionally) without worrying, and the oil comes out still decent.
Thats my $0.02.
