Tranny Gears
So I have a 98 Civic HB DX it needs a tranny rebuild but i want some better gear ratios and maybe through in an LSD while I;m in there, but here is my question, i can get and si tranny and its a direct bolt on to my d16 but i still want better gear ratios, so is there gears that i can get out off another tranny lets say gsr and get them to fit in my d16 tranny? or so on??? Just wondering and any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't use a GSR tranny in your hatch, unless you have a B-series motor.
You can use a set of hybrid gears (combination of Si gears, VX gears, etc) to build a better ratio tranny. Or you could just swap in an Si tranny witch will have slightly better gears. The JDM motor importers will have ones with LSD also.

there is a place that makes custom gear ratios, but I doubt you have $3000 USD for a tranny??
I have heard also ppl use ZC tranny gears in some cases. now... 'better' gear ratios... it doesn't get much better than stock gearing unless you have radically altered your car somehow... an NA 1.6 is still prolly best off using SI stock ratios
