test drove a used car today

its going to be my first time buying a used car.

i tested drove a used car i was interested at today, an EL btw, with also 200,000kms and notice a few things wrong.
at speeds around 90-120km/h, i notice a vibration on the steering wheel, the car itself isnt vibrating, just the steering wheel
alignment is off to the right
brake pedal vibrate when appiled pressure

header and 02 sensors need to be replace as well supposly

are these problems relatively common for a car this high mileage, should i still consider it?

any coments is appricated, thanks?

ask seller for record of the timing belt, water pump change...

clubel.ca is directly geared to only the EL and has tech part on their forum with common problems

timing belt/water pump would be my main concern, it was the first thing i had to do with buying my EL and its not that cheap ($400-$600 i believe is the ballpark)

good luck, they are nice cars

the shake at highway speeds comes from unbalanced tires most likely. the shake in your brake pedal comes from warped front rotors, which mght in turn contribute to the unbalance in your wheels. that is nothing major, something that happens to all cars.

timing belt should have been done already, so check that out.

Sounds to me that if they made all that go bad and not fix it then other parts/ services were probably neglected as well. Believe me, it is much moer worth it to spend the extra on a good running car then to try and save now on the buying costs and have to pay more later on when stuff starts to go bad. I know I learned my lesson

check the caa webpage for check stations

IT all depends on what you want to do with the car

if things like alternator okay etc then that needed

but if suspension shot and you will lower it thats doesnt matter

all depends on what you want but you have to realize how much you will spend and if it is really a deal after all
