synthetic oil in a swapped B18c?

I've got a swapped B18c in my EG. Now of course when you buy motors, they claim the engine has around 80,000 km's or so on it, but you never know. Anyways, are then any specific issues with running synthetic oil in a JDM engine, particularly a B18c? Or is it the same for all B or D series (ie. possibility of oil leakage, etc.) I am planning on trying Mobil 1 synthetic and I've been running regular oil for about a year now.

Synthetic is the way to go. May cost more on the outset, but you get 3 times the life (or better) between changes.
