Rust on springs

Rust on springs

I've got a set of koni and h&r sports.
My springs has rust on them, should I do anything about it ?
what should I apply on the springs before installing them?

Use brush on naval jelly and use some elbow grease with a wire brush and get the rust off. Then use some zinc oxide primer and follow it up with some tremclad and you'll be fine..

Even brand new ones will rust a bit after a while. It's only surface rust. My H&R's did. I wouldn't worry about it. Just give them a good cleaning. SOS pads maybe.Anything you apply will probably just attract more dirt and crap.
