Rust cut out three times ad still coming back!
Hello everyone...
I recently went to a body shop to fix a bit of the honda cancer (rust) on the rear quarter panels on my 96 si coupe. I have gone back about three times as after he does the job the rust bubbles start appearing 2 weeks after the job. From day one I have told him I wanted him to cut out the rust, spot weld fresh medal, and prime and paint. I dont know what this guy is doing as the rust keeps coming back. Im fed up with this shop and do not want to go back as he is either screwing me or doesnt know how to do this job properly. I've heard that the cut and weld technique for rust will only last three to four years before it starts to show up again. Is this true? Also can anyone reccomend a shop that will properly do this for me once and for all and the price it will cost.
Thanks,
Frank

If new metal is welded in and done properly the job will last as long as brand new metal. If rust start to bubble only 2 weeks after you get the car back this means the bodyshop is just slapping some cheese(bondo) over your rust problem and sending it back to u. My suggestion would be (if possible) to pass by the shop while the work is being done from time to time, that way you can see what is being done to your car first hand.

I think that the shop owner was getting his guys to slap some bondo over it and paint it. I cant believe this shop as I even told him that I will pay, just as long as the job is done correctly. Anyhow, bubbles are starting to come out again and Im never going to set foot in that shop again. I need to fix this before winter. Are there any other shops that anyone reccomends? Oh and team rukus, do you have a shop? If so, where are you located?
