Radiator Hose Compatibility

THis might be a really simple question, but I just wanted to be safe when I go out and buy a new set of rad hoses. The hoses I have now are close to being toast and I had a b16a swap done a 99 EX but the hoses were installed very hackish. Just wondering what set of hoses I should be buying 99-00SIR or 96-00 EX. I was looking into buying some Silicone hoses from Samco\OBX\Vibrant depending if the price was right. The reason I am confused is because I am still using the 96-00 rad and not one from an SIR.

Use your EK B series hose kit, so basically, 96-00 EK B series (SiR) in this case.

For the record, if you have B18/B20 Non Vtec head, the upper hose won't match since the head is different, but the bottom will.

Thanks Nova, I figured as much I was going to get some silicone Hoses but seeing as the cheapest I can find them is $100 US its not worth it. OEM Honda ones are cheap cheap!

^^^ So the lower rad hose your saying is the same? The might make sense since it was only the upper rad hose on my car that was hacked up when it was installed.

I think I might be confusing myself, but are you saying I can't just buy upper and lower rad hoses for an SIR? And what I need to do is buy a lower rad hose for a 96-00 D series and then buy an upper hose from an SIR? Or can I buy both from an SIR.

buy the lower rad hose from the 99-00 d series and the upper rad hose from the 99-00 sir. you don't need the lower one unless it's damaged during the swap.

^^ Yeah the swap was done awhile back, the only reason I was going to change both was because they are starting to deteriorate. Anyway believe it or not the I can get the Samco hoses cheaper then OEM. List price for the lower rad hose alone was almost $100 :O
