ECU compatibility

ECU compatibility

Will a 2000 ek Si ECU work in my 97 cx with the stock harness? or do i have to get a 97 Si ECU?

reason im asking is because at a wrecking yard the parts search automatically searches all compatible parts and the system says it is not compatible

no, it will NOT work.

96-96 civics are OBD2A
99-00 civics are OBD2B

Its physically impossible to plug an obd2a ecu into an obd2b car and vise versa....reason being is that obd2a uses the A, C and D plugs while obd2b uses the A, B and C plugs.

But why would you want a SI ecu in a CX? Did you put a SI engine in your car? If so you will need an obd2a SI ecu.

why does honda charge an arm and a leg for an ECU...even a used one, rip off artisits

yupp i put a y8 head on the y7 block......now will the timing be affected with the y7 ecu and the y8 head? Because of the compression difference?
