The intake looks like a second gen!! Notice no plaque on the intake manifold /hard to tell though with that pic.. My guess would be a second gen

It's a JDM engine... prob is a 2nd gen, but no way to tell unless you look at the connectors and stuff.

judging by the pic it looks like a 2nd gen...

there seems to be a hydro clutch line running across in the front... the vtec solenoid has a 2nd gen plug on it. Looks like it has a machined fuel rail as oppose to the 1st gen cast ones. Other than that.. not sure.

KS-R's got it...fuel rail is the easiest to check...the connectors, they have more to them as OBD generations went on. More computer involvment = more connectors.

stock SiR 99-00 is a second gen hydro tranny B16A2. Can someone confirm this engine code, I've heard conflicting codes from other forums. It's a 2nd gen for sure though.

JDM 1st Gen B16 = B16A
JDM 2nd Gen B16 = B16A
USDM SIR B16 = B16A2
DEL SOL B16 = B16A1 94-97
= B16A3 99-00

There are some euro B16's too, but there is no need bringing them into the mix.
