How's the ride quality of a civic dropped 1.8"?

AS the topic states, what's the ride quality like on a civic dropped 1.8" on springs as opposed to coils. Can I go for a ride with someone that has this setup on stock shocks to compare with the coils feeling at aprox. the same height, with stock shocks? And hitting those potholes, how does it sound/feel with springs?

thanks

Joker

My ride feels like I took the springs right off my car when I hit bumps/potholes. That's with H&R's (2" drop) and stock shocks on an EP. I'll prolly get aftermarket shocks within the next year or two, and hopefully that'll improve it somewhat.

its all about the strut/shock quality, stock struts are ment for the springs they came with, I have Tokico shocks with not so good coilovers and it rides great...before with the stock shocks it bounced all over and Id tense up my body over every little bump... went to the tokicos, and it rides at 2 inch drop like it did stock..night and day...as far as potholes go my 17 inch rims jarred the car with stock suspension anyway..

My recomendation for using stock shocks, go with the springs, youll pooch your shocks with the coils...It all depends on the particular case, age of shocks, spring rate...

I had H&R Sports (1.8") on stock shocks in my '98 Acura EL and it rode like a dream... compared to my H&R Race (2.25") on stock shocks on my EG.

hey Joker I got the Tokico HP's the Blue ones, non adjustable...not the Illuminas (white ones) they ran me over 600 for all four, but damn was it worth every penny! one of the best investments ive made for my car...handeling, ride quality, is kikass...if your not into autocross i see no need to get adjustables, cuz your gonna end up setting them at the same pressure as the HPs and then it becomes the same shock, and if you want the KYB AGX's (adjustables) because they are around the same price as the Tokico HPs(non adjustable), get the Tokicos man, way better quality! , and like i said adjustables are useless unless you need it for raceing!

I have Eibach Sportlines, and Koni Yellow's, the sportlines drop my car bout 1.6" all around, and I have my struts setup to bout 3/4 STIFF (75% stiff) and the ride is AWSOME, feels like stock, but corners/handles like race

thats the shiznic! sweet setup, I like going fast around corners way more than i like going "licence cut in half fast" in a straight line... more of a rush in my books!
