93 DX Coupe, NOS toasted BRAKES!! ( They're getting soft... !!??)

Hi.

Just recently, I feel that pedal goes WAY too far and brakes are getting very soft ... I know this isn't a good thing.

I had NOS till 3 weeks ago, for about 8 months, and there was a lot of hard brakings at high speeds happenning.

I think my rotors do need machining and there are blue spots on the surface of them (due to exterime high temp).

I changed the front pads about 3 weeks ago.

Any thoughts?

THANKS.

Fools... upgrading a failed system won't do ****. It sounds to me like you blew your master cylinder buddy... boiling fluid will do that... we just blew a type R master cylinder at the track a few weeks back on my friends car.

Hi all.
Thanks for the comments. None but the one bbarbulo posted made sence though...

Well brakes are playing games now. One time soft, the other time solid. There is also a new clicking sound comming from fronts, when applying brakes.

Any other comments?

I'd urgently remove and inspect the m/c... as for the clicking sounds, you have to take the brakes apart and check for cracked pads and worn guides... but really, you should better diagnose the problem cuz it could be many many things. Is the noise coming from both sides or just one?

I think it comes from the front, passenger side only.
What do you think it is?

Pads are brand new. Like 2 weeks old. They are the CERTIFIED series, from Canadian Tire.

hmm, brake fade? sounds like time for major brake overhaul, drain the fluid, inspect the master, remove the calipers and inspect for leaking seals in the pistons, replace rotors/ machine them(get drilled rotors if you plann on driving fast again) they will stop the your pads from trapping heat and boiling the fluid causing brake fade and master damage...if u got drumms machine/ or replace, and get new shoes, they are cheap enough...new rotors/drumms and pads/shoes with new fluid and properly bled will bring the peddel back up, and make it nice and firm..mmmm firm...

but as for the One time soft, the other time solid... seriously check for leaks around the master and check all your brake parts for leaks...does it get soft when they warm up?

Well, when they get wet they just don't stop the car!
other than that they are Ok now...
I guess as you guys said, I will take a MAJOR look at them, and inspect everything.

I do kill the brakes on a daily bases though....
Anyhow, thanks a bunch for all the comments guys. Appreciated.
:-)
