How can I get more power?

be more specific, what are your goals and what is the car being used for? do u want to stay n/a or go forced induction? bolt ons will see minimum gains, go turbo or bottle. the search is your friend aswell...

oh... as long as you have a proper rev limiter and fuel cut you wont blow your D series... lol..

get a b16 if your willing to turbo it... unless you dont want a swap.. yeah dseries turbos are quick but you will go through a couple motors for sure if you drive it hard....
and i agree with you peter... biased statement
N/A has its benifits

If your grenading boosted d's then your doing something wrong.
I agree with chris, because boosting is the best way to get power out of a d engine.
N/A is cool, and its possible to even get 160-170whp with a reasonable budget, but for a lot less you could turbo and have 200whp. Not to mention turbo adds torque, while N/A not so much.
Also swapping is pretty pointless IMO because if you want to stay within the 200-300hp range then a d will do.

170 whp on a d-series all motor you cannot do on a reasonable budget. Considering a stock gsr makes about 150 to the wheels and a stock b20vtec makes about 160 to the wheels.
Your best best would be to go turbo. We recently built a d16z6, low budget kit. Small turbo, our manifold, fmic, dsm injectors, tuned with crome. We made 230 whp. Not bad at all.

the ZC are good boosting motors too... too bad it ain't the dohc, it would've been better IMO
but boosting it will give you hella lot of power hp and tq... again, proper tuning and careful maintenance is the key to longitivity... so don't listen to rumours that it will blow up and stuff... the only thing you should check before boosting are your compressions... might as well look at some minor stuff like gaskets, seals, plugs, etc.
you'll have lots of fun
