that is exactly what my next step is. I am going to see what I can get out of them. I am hoping to go in there tomorrow. The saga continues...

This could have all been avoided had you taken the car for an inspection by another mechanic (uncle) PRIOR to purchasing the vehicle.

If you're not mechanically inlcined or haven't much knowledge about cars, have someone else do the job.

Possibly the other mechanic would have noticed those safety items that CT had missed.

I'm not blaming you for these problems, but it's something you've just learned the hard way.

I agree 100% with you Sohc. This is my first car and I didn't do everything the way I should have and I am learning a lot of things that I should have done differently. I guess it's just a big learning experience.

Why didn't you just get your uncle to safety and do the work in the first place?

I got my car e-tested at CT, but had I failed, I wouldn't get work done by them.

My uncle is in Mississauga and I am in London; and the guy who was selling it to me said he would get the safety done by CT. At the time, I didn't see any problem with this...

Ah alright. I didn't read your location. I figured GTA.

So was it the seller that was safteying? If that was the case, doesn't he have to pay for it?

Nope, used cars are classified as "buyer beware."

I talked to CT and they are going to look at the cracked bushings to see if they are just from weather, or if they are cracked all the way through. I am bringing the car in tomorrow so I think they are going to do something about that. As for the cracked manifold, I am just going to get my step-dad's friend to redo it, b/c he is a welder. CT won't replace the whole thing for me

If the car came certified, you can go back to the seller and/or mechanic that certified it. Why did you go to a garage the seller told you to? I don't get it.

There are a lot of car junk yards in London, just take a manifold from there.

He did the safety. And it was CT, so I thought it was reputable. Meh, the past is the past. My step-dad has called the wrecker to find some manifolds.

Going to be hard to find and it's not going to be cheap either because they know it's not easy to find. I know, I have called just about every junk yard in Ontario to find one. I think when I was looking, to get an aftermarket from some of the junk yards, they were quoting 350.

Post in the Want to buy section and see if anyone on the board has one they can sell you cheap. Also better check and see that your 02 sensor isn't seized.
