well, if it is only happening at like 6000/6500rpm a up, is that just normal for gsr motors when u rev them high to burn a bit of oil? i was told it goes throught he pvc valve and if i had an oil catch can, all that oil will go into it... but, aside from that, my concern is burning oil and i wanted to make sure its not being burned out of my exhaust.

no a different colour smoke is bad.. you're burning oil buddy.

i was told that it could be the valve seals or or the piston rings or something... that could be causing that... what is that cost wise to replace and is it likely it could be those things.

valve seals are cheap and replacing is a piece of cake.

piston rings.. well... just do a compression test and come back. I doubt its the rings from what you described

how can i check for the valve seals then apparently the engine compression tests ok and i can get it done again, but if checking the seals is an easier bet then i would like to check that out.

in order to change the valve seals you need to pull the valve springs/retainers out, yes its easy, but time consuming, and a few specialty tools are required.
About the IABs, unless the p06 was modded for vtec and IABs there is no way it will work. You can have the ecu modded to activate the IABs or buy the GSR ecu (which most people charge out the a$$ for).
DOHC VTEC engines burn oil, most of them at least, you can change parts until you are blue in the face, but even freshly rebuilt dohc vtec engines burn a little oil.
Oh and Chris

how often are you putting oil in? just so i have something to base it on...

now, is there diff valves for intake/exhaust? I was planning on putting in new valve springs/retainers as part of my enigne build up... i was told along with camshafts and a cam gears go with dual valve springs and like titanium valve retainers or something... if i am getting this done is there anything else i can change up while i am in there to help with the oil burning but as well as with some performance.

i put in about 1/3 of a litre every 2500 miles or so.
Its not very much, and i changed my valve seals when i changed my valve springs, seats and retainers. I figured i might as well while everything was apart.

Is this your first motor swap?

The way I see it you just put a GSR in and your constanlty reving the **** out of the motor. So yes it will burn more oil than someone who only hits vtec once and a while.

Remember you also don't have a cat. I wouldn't even think of seals and rings yet, the motor probably sat for awhile give it some time.

it is my first motor swap, but i know i am not revving the **** out of the motor... cause i don;t want to damage it... i am sure i wouldn't be this concerned about it if i was driving the **** out of it... the way i see it, is i worked ****ing long and hard hours to get the money to swap it ad then when its done i am of course going to be careful and make sure everything is ok... cause i don't want to be buying another engine a few months down the road because everytime i fill up my tank i need a new bottle of oil... ha, well, at least i don't have to worry about oil changes...

wow.
I would do a compression and leakdown test.
Even if you're beating on it, it shouldn't go though that much oil.

where could i get that done for a reasonable price? Are any of these at all damaging to the motor?

i can do a compression test for ya but i don't have a leakdown tester. Neither tests hurt the engine. And just about any shop should be able to do either test for relatively cheap. But for the price of a compression test you could just go buy the $30 compression tester from crappy tire and do it yourself. The leakdown tester however is way more expensive and requires the use of an air compressor.
