D15B7 loud intake

Hey guys

Does the D15B7 usually have a loud stock intake? I mean this thing is louder then an H22 in VTEC, its like brap and then when you trying to get all 102horses accelerating up a hill, the ****in thing is like BRAPPPPPP. Its the air being sucked into the intake.

I just changed the exhaust thinking it was the exhaust causing it to be loud, but nope, its coming from the intake.

Exhaust, intake...everything is stock, this ride is my beater but the loud exhaust/intake noise is pissing me off.

haha, with the power available I can assure it is far from a K20 Vtec screamer...more like a lawnmower screamer.

But its loud, sounds like an aftermarket exhaust when giving it the gas to accelerate, its soo annoying.

Its got the short plastic piece attached to the lower part of the air box. Its about 3" long. That sucks air out the fender lining area, which was removed by the previous owner, likely for a cold air intake.

I'll try snapping a pic and maybe i'm missing a piece I wasn't aware of.

there should be a bigger box that hides under ur bumper/fender...that comes alway the way up back in the engine bay. thats the thing that makes the intake quite...............so intake then where the filter goes under neath is another thing that goes through that hole and then this other thing that attaches to that pipe and goes around and comes back under and twists back into and under the bumper/fender back in the engine bay =) lol. jk but ya its that thing u need to put on to quite it down..

wicked, thanks guys....i'll keep my eye open for that piece. My old EL had that, but wasn't sure if EG's had it. I'll probably try a scrap yard and watch the TCC classifieds too.
