Loud Rattling!!!

Sounds like it's coming from underneath the car towards the front. My buddy thinks it's the heat shield. Any ideas on how to secure it?

Pull it off... it's not necessary anyway.

Yah my friend had a noise under his car and he just got the heat shield removed and its fine now... i had a rattle myself but it turned out to be the shift linkage

all heat sheilds are spot welded on when they heat up and get wet they cool very fast and the welds crack. rip the dam thing off it just attracts more heat to your motor. u don't need it

Just rip it off and use it as an ashtray...

i had the same problem when i put a short shifter on it eventually fell off in a parking lot and now it's in my trunk

Some of you obviously don't work on cars much...if you did you would know that any bolts close to heat will rust and seize. Like an exhaust system rusts from the inside out due to heat and nothing else... w/o heat shields rust will be rampant in that general area. Not today, not tomorrow, but in the long run!
