a b20 swap isn't terribly expensive pending you are using the motor stock... ie no vtec head.... you could probably get the motor itself for 1000... then get a gsr tranny for maybe 500 or more.... and your set.... might need little things along the way too though

$500 for a GSR tranny?? Does that come with gears inside it
A b20 swap will cost you $3000 in stock shape, if not more.
Why not save a little more and get a better swap done? Else, you are looking at D16Z6 or D16Y8...not very exciting stuff.

bbarbulo I think it depends on whether or not the dude is doing the labour himself ... if he isn't then yes it would cost around 4G's in my book if he's doing it himself and is willing to wait to get a good deal on parts it could be done for 2500 .....

To get a complete JDM B20 isn't cheap by any means. To get a USDM, it's a peice it together kinda deal... which ends up costing much more than buying one outright... cuz USDM B20s need the LS intake, and some sort of manual tranny, then shift linkage, mounts, engine harness possibly, axles, ECU, and a mess of other things. These things never seem to stop on budget somehow...

How many times have we been through this LOL USDM B20 has this massive super tall manifold that clears the SUV hoodline but will bend your Civic hood in half when you shut the hood. Need the low profile B18B intake manifold.

LOL^^
But ya at around your budget you can probably get a b18b installed for that price which runs quite well in a 5th gen hatch. When this topic comes up everyone jumps on prices for just the motor alone, don't people ******* think of swapping engine harnesses, shafts, shifter linkages, ecu's, pending on the tranny and what car it's going into, distributors, mounting kits, installation!!. No one thinks about these things, it's not going to magically go right in and drive off
