v-tec to non v-tec?
hea guys i got a vx hatch witch is v-tec-e and im teporarally swapping in a d15b7 while i build my mini me... so is swapping a non v-tec motor into a v-tec car a easy and possible task?

P06 - d15b7 for sure!
P08 - d15b (I think...)
I say screw building a mini me....just stick a ZC vtec in it along with a Si trans.
Although vtec e are slow, the trans they are connected to are even slower. In the end you would benefit more from a tranny swap then a head swap at least for the price.
Si transmission swap 150$
Head swap 300-400$

you'll be fine. I've done non-vtec swaps into vtec cars before and all you have to do is leave the 2 extra vtec plugs unplugged and get the proper p06 ecu to avoid any CEL's.
The only other problem I might see you running into is the o2 sensor. The VX has a 5 wire o2 sensor, whereas the every other model uses a 4 wire o2.

my bad on the vtec spelling......
and sorry for the newb question to follow.
i was sold a computer that has a sticker on it saying its a p06, and i opend it up and there is a sticker on one of the chips that says "d15b". the guy told me it was chipped for vtec by tecnotics, is that possible?

it is true depending on the chip you can definetly chip it for vtec, the only thing that sucks it most days its hard to notice or hear vtec unless you got a keen ear. I havn't heard of many chipping the p6 for vtec... simply because its usually cheaper to go to a junkyard and grab up a p28 but definetly go do a couple "hole shots" and youd be able to hear it engage
If you really wanted to test it, you can always get a dope **** JDM vtec controller
toss that baby on and set it to engage earlier listen for the tone.

yes, i've converted literally hundreds of non-vtec p06/pr4/p75 ecus to vtec over the years. You have to chip the ecu at the same time as adding the vtec components.
Vtec controllers are ****. The easiest way I find to test if vtec works or not, is unplug the vtec solenoid, drive the car, then plug it back in and take it for another drive. Without vtec working you'll definately feel the difference.
